During World War II, a US Marine protects Navajo code talkers, forming a bond with one of them despite the difficult task of potentially having to kill them if captured. Windtalkers is a 2002 American English-language Action Drama film featuring Nicolas Cage, Adam Beach, Peter Stormare, Noah Emmerich, Mark Ruffalo, Brian Van Holt and Douglas Dean Taylor. Lion Rock Productions in association with Metro Goldwyn Mayer. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Terence Chang, Tracie Graham-rice, Alison Rosenzweig and John Woo. Windtalkers is written by John Rice and Joe Batteer and it is directed by John Woo. MGM Distribution Co. acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Windtalkers was released on 14th June 2002 and takes a screen time of 134-153 minutes. Windtalkers was made on a budget of $115 million and at the box office it grossed only $77 million. Cinematography was done by Jeffrey L. Kimball and editing by Jeff Gullo, Steven Kemper and Tom Rolf. The music was composed by James Horner.
