Stella Dallas is a 1937 English-language Drama Romance motion picture written by Sarah Y. Mason, Victor Heerman, Olive Higgins Prouty, Harry Wagstaff Gribble, Gertrude Purcell and Joe Bigelow. The movie is directed by King Vidor and produced by Samuel Goldwyn under the banner of Samuel Goldwyn Productions. A working-class woman is willing to do whatever it takes to give her daughter a socially promising future. Stella dallas stars Barbara Stanwyck in the title role along with an ensemble cast including John Boles, Anne Shirley, Barbara O neil, Alan Hale, Marjorie Main and George Walcott. The film is based on Stella Dallas 1923 novel by Olive Higgins Prouty. The music was composed by Alfred Newman. Cinematography was done by Rudolph Mat and editing by Sherman Todd. The film has a running time of 106 minutes. Distribution rights for the movie were acquired by United Artists.
