Mr. Wise Guy

Mr. Wise Guy (the eighth in the East Side Kids series) finds the gang sent to the Wilton Reform School after they are unjustly convicted of stealing a truck. Bill Collins (Douglas Fowley), brother of co-leader Danny (Bobby Jordan), becomes involved in a killing and, while also innocent, is convicted and sentenced to death. Through a series of events, Muggs (Leo Gorcey), Glimpy (Huntz Hall), Danny and the rest of the gang, learn that Knobby (Billy Gilbert), a henchman of Luke Manning (Guinn Williams), knows something about the murder. Written by Les Adams Mr. Wise Guy is a 1942 American English-language Comedy Drama motion picture featuring East Side Kids, Leo Gorcey, Bobby Jordan, Huntz Hall, Billy Gilbert, Guinn big Boy Williams and Charles Sullivan. Mr. Wise Guy was Produced by Sam Katzman, Barney A. Sarecky and Jack Dietz. The movie is directed by William Nigh. Monogram Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Mr. Wise Guy was released on 20th February 1942 and takes a screen time of 70 minutes. The screenplay for the movie was written by Sam Robins, Harvey Gates and Jack Henley.
