The movie is inspired from Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh. Channel Four Films in association with Figment Films and Noel Gay Motion Picture Company. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Andrew Macdonald. Trainspotting is written by John Hodge and Irvine Welsh and it is directed by Danny Boyle. PolyGram Filmed Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Trainspotting was released on 23rd February 1996 and takes a screen time of 93 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Trainspotting was made on a budget of £1 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $16 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by John Hodge.
