Boy Erased

When a Baptist Pastor comes to know that his son Jared Eamons is gay he forces him to join a gay conversion program. Jared'sjourney of accepting his sexuality begins after he has a fall out with the leader of the program. This 2018 English biographical drama was written and directed by Joel Edgerton. The star cast includes Lucas Hedges, Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe, Madelyn Cline, Victor McCay, Troye Sivan, and Cherry Jones. Troye Sivan who plays the character named Gary has also contributed two songs for the movie: “Revelation” and “The Good Side.” The film was an adaptation of the memoir with the same name written by Garrard Conley. The author of the book Garrard Conley appears as a staff member on Jared’s first day of therapy in the film. The cinematography was done by Eduard Grau and edited by Jay Rabinowitz. The film was produced by Joel Edgerton, Steve Golin, and Kerry Kohansky Roberts and distributed by Focus Features. Music was composed by Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans. It was released on 2 November 2018 and has a running time of 114 minutes. An R certificate for the movie was provided by Censor Board. The movie was made on a budget of $11 million and collected only $11.8 million.
