In 1765, a young boy named Jim Hawkins receives a treasure map and with the help of Captain Smollett, Squire Trelawney, and Dr. Livesey, they navigate through a mutiny, encounter a marooned man named Ben Gunn, and ultimately reclaim the treasure while also allowing Long John Silver to escape. Treasure Island is a 1950 American English-language Adventure Family movie featuring Bobby Driscoll, Robert Newton, Basil Sydney, Finlay Currie, Walter Fitzgerald, Denis O dea and Freddy Clark. The movie is inspired from Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. Walt Disney Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Walt Disney and Perce Pearce. Treasure Island is written by Lawrence Edward Watkin and directed by Byron Haskin. RKO Radio Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Treasure Island was released on 12th July 1950 and takes a screen time of 96 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Treasure Island was made on a budget of $1 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $4 million. Cinematography was done by Freddie Young and editing by Alan Jaggs.
