Fred, a car repairer, works with his friends Tony and Silver at a garage, but trouble ensues when Tony and Silver disrupt Freds girlfriend Ah Mans birthday, leading to their breakup, until their boss Ken takes them on a trip to Penang where they meet wealthy girls Maggie and Agnes and they form relationships, however, when another man named Chiu shows interest in Maggie, Fred tricks him, resulting in negative consequences for Fred and his friends, but they eventually plan a rescue mission and Maggie realizes Chius ulterior motives, leading to her break up with him and eventual marriage with Fred. The Romancing Star is a 1987 Cantonese-language Comedy Romance film starring Chow Yun-fat, Eric Tsang, Natalis Chan, Stanley Fung, Maggie Cheung, Yun-fat Chow and Kuo Hua Chang. The Romancing Star was Produced by Wallace Cheung. The movie is directed by Wong Jing. Win s Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. The Romancing Star was released on 25th June 1987 and takes a screen time of 103 minutes. The film made a box office gross of $21 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Wong Jing. Cinematography was done by David Choi and editing by Robert Choi. The music was composed by Sherman Chow.
