Takkar

The story is about a Zamindar and his family, where the eldest son becomes a smuggler due to mistreatment by his stepmother, and despite his transformation into a good person, he is unable to reveal his true identity to his family, until eventually the smugglers are arrested, and the family is reunited and lives happily ever after. Takkar is a 1980 Indian Hindi-language Drama motion picture featuring Sanjeev Kumar, Zeenat Aman, Jaya Prada, Ashok Kumar, Vinod Mehra, Bindiya Goswami and Govardhan Asrani. The movie is inspired from Devudu Chesina Manushulu. Padmalaya Studios was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) G. A. Seshagiri Rao and Krishna. Takkar is written by Rahul Dev Burman, Chandandas Shokh and Anand Bakshi and it is directed by K. Bapaiah. Takkar was released on 1st January 1980 and takes a screen time of 156 minutes. Takkar was made on a budget of ₹3 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹4 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by G. Hanumantha Rao. Cinematography was done by P. L. Rai and editing by K. Gopala Rao. The music was composed by Rahul Dev Burman along with R. D. Burman.
