Appu, a Mumbai taxi driver haunted by his sisters tragic suicide after being forced into prostitution, develops relationships with prostitutes in his quest for solace, but finds purpose in seeking revenge against the establishment responsible while also forming a loving connection with Seetha. Appu is a 2000 Indian Tamil-language Drama Action movie featuring Prakash Raj, Devayani Rajakumaran, Dhamu, Kaveri Muralidharan, Ramesh Khanna, Prasanth and Vietnam Veetu Sundaram. The movie is based on Sadak. Kavithalaya Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Rajam K. Balachander, and Pushpa Kandasamy. Appu is written by Mahesh Bhatt and directed by Sm Vasanth. Minbimbangal Studio acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Appu was released on 16th June 2000 and takes a screen time of 132 minutes. The screenplay for the movie was written by Vasanth. Cinematography was done by P. S. Vinod and R. D. Rajasekhar and editing by R. Sridhar. The music was composed by Deva.
