Rakhtbeej is written by Vidhaan Asrani and directed by Anil Balani and Anil Ballani. Disney ABC Domestic Television acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Rakhtbeej was released on 25th May 2012. Rakhtbeej was made on a budget of ₹5 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹47 lakh. Editing was done by Saagar. The music was composed by Ajay Jaiswal.
