Kahaani

A pregnant woman searches for her missing husband in Kolkata with the help of a police officer, but discovers a web of deceit and avenges the deaths of her husband and unborn child. Kahaani is a 2012 Indian Hindi-language Drama Mystery movie starring Vidya Balan, Parambrata Chatterjee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Indraneil Sengupta, Saswata Chatterjee, Dhritiman Chatterjee and Dj Farman. Boundscript Motion Pictures was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Sujoy Ghosh and Kushal Kantilal Gada. Kahaani is written by Sujoy Ghosh, Advaita Kala, Suresh Nair, Ritesh Shah, Sutapa Sikdar and Nikhil Vyas and it is directed by Sujoy Ghosh. Viacom 18 Motion Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Kahaani was released on 8th March 2012 and takes a screen time of 122 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Kahaani was made on a budget of ₹20 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹57 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by Sujoy Ghosh. Cinematography was done by Satyajit Pande and editing by Namrata Rao. The music was composed by IIFA Award winner Shekhar Ravjiani along with Vishal Dadlani, Vishal Shekhar and Clinton Cerejo. At the 2013 IIFA Awards It won an award for Best Actress in a Leading Role (Vidya Balan). At the 2013 National Film Awards It also won 3 awards including: Best Screenplay, Best Editing and Special Jury Award. At the 2013 IIFA Awards It also won an award for Best Editing.
