Six survivors of childhood sexual assault by Catholic priests and clergy in the American Midwest have united to confront their trauma using drama therapy and filmmaking, creating fictional scenes based on their memories and dreams to explore the rituals and culture that enabled their abuse within the Catholic church, with the aim of reclaiming the spaces where they were abused and finding empowerment, support, healing, and growth through their creative process, while challenging silence and highlighting the resilience of survivors and the power of art in a supportive community. Procession is a 2021 American English-language Documentary film featuring Joe Eldred, Mike Foreman, Ed Gavagan, Dan Laurine, Monica Phinney, Michael Sandridge and Amaris Anderson. Procession was Produced by Susan Bedusa, Bennett Elliott and Douglas Tirola. The movie is directed by Robert Greene. Netflix acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Procession was released on 19th November 2021 and takes a screen time of 116 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. Cinematography was done by Robert Kolodny. The music was composed by Keegan Dewitt.
