Maggie, initially planning to be a single mother, enters into an affair with a married man named John. Their relationship leads to the dissolution of Johns troubled marriage with Georgette, but after three years and a daughter together, Maggie falls out of love with John and is torn between wanting a happy ending for him and Georgette, and acknowledging her own feelings, leading her to contemplate her role in their lives and the impact of her choices, ultimately grappling with what is best for everyone involved and seeking a solution that brings happiness to all.
