Hercules Unchained

Hercules gets caught in a conflict between two brothers fighting for rule of Thebes, loses his memory and becomes the captive of a queen with a history of turning men into statues, before ultimately helping the Theban army fight off mercenaries and saving his wife from being thrown into an arena with wild beasts. Hercules Unchained is a 1959 Italian-language Adventure Fantasy movie featuring Steve Reeves, Sylva Koscina, Primo Carnera, Sylvia Lopez, Gabriele Antonini, Patrizia Della Rovere and Fabrizio Mioni. The movie is inspired from Oedipus at Colonus by Sophocles Seven Against Thebes by Aeschylus. Hercules Unchained was Produced by Bruno Vailati. The movie is directed by Pietro Francisci. Warner Bros acquired the distribution rights for the film. Hercules Unchained was released on 14th February 1959 and takes a screen time of 97 minutes. The motion picture made a box office gross of $2 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Ennio De Concini and Pietro Francisci. Cinematography was done by Mario Bava and editing by Mario Serandrei. The music was composed by Enzo Masetti.
