A couple inherit an ancestral palace, only to discover that it is haunted by a female spirit obsessed with a man named Arjun, in a horror movie exploring themes of family loyalty, betrayal, and revenge, incorporating elements of Indian mythology, with praised special effects and atmosphere, and a successful Malayalam remake. Chandrakala is a 2014 Indian Telugu-language Drama Comedy movie featuring Dhanush, Diya, Parul Yadav, Hansika Motwani and Sundar C. Akshay Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Saraswathi Srikanth. Chandrakala is written by Sundar C and directed by Sundar C., Sundar C and Kasthuri Raja. Kalasangham Films acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Chandrakala was released on 18th September 2014. Cinematography was done by Kichas. The music was composed by Filmfare Award winner Bharathwaj along with Bharadwaj.
