The Shoplifters

A series of tableaux depicting the follies of a group of naïve Marxist would-be radicals who think that they want to be revolutionaries, but in the final analysis, what they really want is to be seen wearing berets. The Shoplifters is a 2019 Japanese Japanese-language Comedy Crime film featuring Lily Franky, Sakura Ando, Mayu Matsuoka, Kairi J, Miyu Sasaki, Kirin Kiki and Willytron. Aoi Pro in association with Inc. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Matsuzaki Kaoru, Yose Akihiko and Taguchi Hijiri. The movie is written and directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda. GAGA Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The Shoplifters was released on 12th July 2018 and takes a screen time of 121 minutes. The motion picture made a box office gross of $72 million. Cinematography was done by Kondo Ryuto and editing by Hirokazu Kore-eda. The music was composed by Haruomi Hosono.
