(U.S. Version) A mysterious magnetic spool found during a construction project is discovered to have originated from Venus. A rocket expedition to Venus is launched to discover the origin of the spool and the race that created it. Written by Leo L. Schwab First Spaceship on Venus is a 1960 German-language Sci-Fi film starring G Nther Simon, Julius Ongewe, Yoko Tani, Yôko Tani, Oldrich Lukes, Ignacy Machowski and Eduard Von Winterstein. The movie is based on The Astronauts by Stanis aw Lem. Roter Kreis group of DEFA in association with Iluzjon film studio. were the production houses involved in the project. The movie is directed by Kurt Maetzig. Progress Film acquired the distribution rights for the film. First Spaceship on Venus was released on 26th February 1960 and takes a screen time of 93-79 minutes. The movie made a box office gross of 4 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Kurt Maetzig and J. Barkhauer. Cinematography was done by Joachim Hasler and editing by Lena Neumann. The music was composed by Andrzej Markowski.
