Two individuals in 1901 Spain defy societal norms by disguising themselves and marrying, highlighting their bravery and the struggles faced by the LGBTQ+ community at the time, ultimately paving the way for future progress and equality. Elisa and Marcela is a 2019 Spanish Spanish-language Biography Drama film featuring Natalia De Molina, Greta Fern Ndez, Greta Fernández, Sara Casasnovas, Tamar Novas, Lluís Homar and Marcos Javier Fernández Eimil. The film is written and directed by Isabel Coixet. Netflix acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Elisa and Marcela was released on 7th June 2019. The music was composed by Sof A Oriana Infante.
