Private detective investigates the disappearance of an old Bengali movie actress and solves the case of her murder, discovering the culprit to be her husband and the real identity of a nursery employee. Chiriyakhana is a 1967 Indian Bengali-language Crime Drama movie starring Uttam Kumar, Kalipada Chakraborty, Nripati Chatterjee, Shekhar Chatterjee, Subhendu Chatterjee, Subrata Chatterjee and Subira Roy. Star Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Harendranath Bhattacharya. Chiriyakhana is written by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay and Satyajit Ray and it is directed by Satyajit Ray. Balaka Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Chiriyakhana was released on 7th March 1967 and takes a screen time of 125 min. Cinematography was done by Soumendu Roy and editing by Dulal Dutta. The music was composed by National Award winner Satyajit Ray. At the 1968 National Film Awards It won 2 awards including: Best Direction and Best Director. At the 1968 National Film Awards It also won an award for Best Actor (Uttam Kumar).
