In a future where civilization is controlled by a malfunctioning defense system, a group of villagers led by a girl named Zuru, aided by a wanderer named Killy, strive to find a safe place to settle after their village is destroyed by a Safeguard agent, ultimately establishing a new village in an abandoned level. Blame! is a 2017 Japanese Japanese-language Animation Sci-Fi movie featuring Takahiro Sakurai, Kana Hanazawa, Sora Amamiya, Mamoru Miyano, Aya Suzaki, Nobunaga Shimazaki and Joe Ochman. The movie is based on Blame! by Tsutomu Nihei. Polygon Pictures was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Shuzo John Shiota. Blame! is written by Quinn Shephard, Laurie Shephard, Sadayuki Murai and Tsutomu Nihei and it is directed by Shintaro Inokawa, Quinn Shephard and Hiroyuki Seshita. Netflix acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Blame! was released on 20th May 2017 and takes a screen time of 106 minutes. The screenplay for the movie was written by Sadayuki Murai. Cinematography was done by Mitsunori Kataama and editing by Hiromi Amanai. The music was composed by Yugo Kanno.
