Sleeping Dogs Lie

A schoolteacher named Amy hides a secret from her fiancé John, lies about a lesbian experience when he suggests honesty, later confesses the truth during a visit to her parents which causes conflict with her family, leading to a strained relationship with John; however, after leaving John she finds temporary shelter with Linda and Carl, moves into a new apartment with the help of her co-worker Ed, they start a relationship after he finds out about his wifes infidelity, reconciles with her father after her mothers death, receives a letter her mother wrote, visits her drug addict brother in prison but abruptly leaves when he blames her for their mothers death, and eventually becomes a couple with Ed while deciding to keep a false secret from her past hidden.
