War of the Worlds

War of the Worlds is a Canadian/American science-fiction television series that ran for two seasons, from October 10, 1988 to May 14, 1990. The series is an extension of the original 1953 film The War of the Worlds, using the same War Machine, often incorporating aspects from the film, radio adaptation, and original novel into its mythology. Though the original film s producer, George Pal, conceived of a TV series from the same film sometime in the 1970s, it was not until the late 1980s that a series was finally realized, this time by television producer Greg Strangis. The show was a part of the boom of first run syndicated television series being produced at the time. It was later shown in reruns on the Sci Fi Channel. The series was filmed in Los Angeles, California and Toronto, Ontario. War of the Worlds is a 2011 English-language television series starring Gabriel Byrne, Elizabeth Mcgovern, L A Drucker, Adel Bencherif, Emilie De Preissac, Natasha Little and Aaron Heffernan. The series is inspired from The War of the Worlds by H. G. Wells. Urban Myth Films in association with Fox Networks Group and StudioCanal. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Gareth Williams. The series is directed by Gilles Coulier and Richard Clark. The series premiered on October 28, 2019. Canal+ acquired the distribution rights for the television show. Creator of the series is Howard Overman. The television show has a running time of 60 minutes for each episode. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released.
