True crime podcaster Poppy Parnell is called to investigate the case of convicted killer Warren Cave, a man she incriminated after he murdered the father of two identical twins. Soon, Parnell must decide where the lines between guilty and innocent lie when Cave confesses to the fact that he was framed for the crime. Truth Be Told is a 2019 American English-language Crime Drama television series featuring Octavia Spencer, Lizzy Caplan, Aaron Paul, Elizabeth Perkins, Michael Beach, Mekhi Phifer and Arianna Ortiz. The series is inspired from Are You Sleeping by Kathleen Barber. Orit Entertainment in association with Hello Sunshine, Chernin Entertainment, Endeavor Content and With an N. were the production houses involved in the project. The series premiered on December 6, 2019 in English on Apple TV+. Apple Inc. acquired the distribution rights for the television series. Creator of the series is Nichelle Tramble Spellman. Although it doesnt have to be, the series isnt a faithful adaptation of the novel its based upon, which might disappoint fans of author Kathleen Barbers Are You Sleeping For those unfamiliar, Spellmans series borrows ideas and plotlines from the novel and creates an entirely new world of its own, so reading the novel before watching the series isnt a requirement.
