A mischievous 12-year-old cat named Gumball, along with his adopted goldfish brother Darwin, gets involved in various antics in the fictional city of Elmore, accompanied by his sister Anais and parents Richard and Nicole, and attends Elmore Junior High with his classmates, while a new dimension called The Void is introduced in the third season, which houses all of the universes mistakes and becomes the source of conflict as a character named Rob, trapped in The Void, becomes Gumballs main antagonist due to his awareness of his fictional existence and resentment towards Gumball as the protagonist.
