Queen on Katwe is a 2016 American English-language Biography Drama series featuring David Oyelowo, Lupita Nyong o, Madina Nalwanga, Esteri Tebandeke, Peter Odeke, Sheebah Karungi and Russel Savadier. The series is based on The Queen of Katwe by Tim Crothers. Queen on Katwe was Produced by John B. Carls, Lydia Dean Pilcher and John Carls. Queen on Katwe is written by William Wheeler and Tim Crothers and it is directed by Mira Nair. Walt Disney Studios acquired the distribution rights for the television series. Queen on Katwe was released on 30th September 2016 in English and Luganda languages and takes a screen time of 124 minutes for each episode. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. Queen on Katwe was made on a budget of $15 million and at the box office it grossed only $10 million. The screenplay for the series was written by William Wheeler.
