The series is inspired from La Reina del Sur by Arturo P rez-Reverte. Frequency Films in association with Friendly Films, Skeeter Rosenbaum Productions, Fox 21 Television Studios and Universal Cable Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Robert J. Wilson, Lorenzo O brien, Matthew J. Lieberman and Judd Rea. Series originally aired on USA Network. NBCUniversal Television Distribution acquired the distribution rights for the series.
