Rajiv falls in love with Ganga, but after they marry and move to the US, she faces hostility from Rajivs family and seeks solace in his foster brother Arjun. Pardes is a 1997 Indian Hindi-language Drama Musical motion picture featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Mahima Chaudhry, Apurva Agnihotri, Amrish Puri, Alok Nath, Himani Shivpuri and Ruhshad Nariman Daruwalla. Michael Jacobs Productions in association with Touchstone Television. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Bharat S Shah and Subhash Ghai. Pardes is written by Subhash Ghai, Neeraj Pathak and Javed Siddiqui and it is directed by Subhash Ghai. Mukta Arts acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Pardes was released on 8th December 1997 and takes a screen time of 191 mins. The movie made a box office gross of ₹22 crore. Cinematography was done by Kabir Lal and editing by Renu Saluja. The music was composed by Nadeem Akhtar Saifi along with Nadeem-shravan.
