Billy Beane, the general manager of the Oakland Athletics, hires an economics graduate with innovative ideas on player evaluation to assemble a competitive team despite a limited budget, facing skepticism from the teams scouts and manager, but ultimately achieving success and gaining recognition for his approach. Moneyball is a 2011 American English-language Biography Drama film starring Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Robin Wright, Chris Pratt, Stephen Bishop and Dylan M. Walker. The movie is inspired from Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game by Michael Lewis. Columbia Pictures in association with Scott Rudin Productions, Michael De Luca Productions and Plan B Entertainment. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Brad Pitt, Michael De Luca and Rachael Horovitz. Moneyball is written by Steven Zaillian, Aaron Sorkin, Stan Chervin and Michael Lewis and it is directed by Bennett Miller. Sony Pictures Releasing acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Moneyball was released on 24th February 2012 and takes a screen time of 133 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Moneyball was made on a budget of $50 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $110 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Steven Zaillian and Aaron Sorkin. Cinematography was done by Wally Pfister and editing by Christopher Tellefsen. The music was composed by Mychael Danna.
