A detective, wrongfully convicted of murder, becomes determined to solve the murders, expose the conspiracy, and confront figures from his past, while forming a bond with his partner and uncovering evidence that implicates her father; in the second season, he investigates the conspiracy further, develops a relationship with a survivor, and learns he had been watched to replace a crime lord, ultimately finding peace after trading places with his partner and killing her captor.
