A group of soldiers in Scotland discover a prehistoric radioactive creature that causes destruction and death, and after developing an anti-radiation device, they successfully neutralize it but a second unexplained explosion occurs. X the Unknown is a 1956 English-language Horror Sci-Fi motion picture featuring Dean Jagger, Edward Chapman, Leo Mckern, Anthony Newley, Jameson Clark, William Lucas and Neil Wilson. Hammer Film Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Anthony Hinds. X the Unknown is written by Jimmy Sangster and directed by Leslie Norman and Joseph Losey. Exclusive Films acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. X the Unknown was released on 5th November 1956 and takes a screen time of 81 minutes. X the Unknown was made on a budget of $0 million. Cinematography was done by Gerald Gibbs and editing by James Needs. The music was composed by James Bernard along with John Hollingsworth.
