The film is about a mutant named Jean Grey whose powerful abilities become harder to control after being hit by a solar flare, leading her to discover suppressed memories and become a threat to Earth, ultimately sacrificing herself to save the day. The movie is inspired from X-Men by Stan Lee & Jack Kirby The Dark Phoenix Saga by Chris Claremont & John Byrne. 20th Century Fox in association with Marvel Entertainment, The Donners Company and TSG Entertainment. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Hutch Parker and Todd Hallowell. X-Men: Dark Phoenix is written by Simon Kinberg, Chris Claremont, Dave Cockrum and John Byrne and it is directed by Simon Kinberg. 20th Century Fox acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. X-Men: Dark Phoenix was released on 5th June 2019 and takes a screen time of 114 minutes.
