When We Were Kings is a 1996 American English-language Documentary Sport film featuring Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, James Brown, B.b. King, Norman Mailer, George Plimpton and Jersey Joe Walcott. PolyGram Filmed Entertainment was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Leon Gast, David Sonenberg and Taylor Hackford. The movie is directed by Leon Gast. Gramercy Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. When We Were Kings was released on 14th February 1997 and takes a screen time of 89 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. The film made a box office gross of $2 million. Cinematography was done by Maryse Alberti, Paul Goldsmith, Kevin Keating, Albert Maysles and Roderick Young and editing by Leon Gast, Taylor Hackford, Jeffrey Levy-Hinte and Keith Robinson At the 1997 Oscar Awards It won an award for Best Documentary, Features.
