Devar Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Sandow M. M. A. Chinnappa Thevar. The movie is directed by M. A. Thirumugam. Emgeeyar Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Vettaikkaran was released on 14th January 1964 and takes a screen time of 157 minutes. Cinematography was done by N. S. Varma and editing by M. A. Thirumugam, M. G. Balu Rao and M. A. Mariappan. The music was composed by K. V. Mahadevan.
