Two brothers in Thoothukudi, Thirumurthy and Gurumurthy, lead contrasting lives but ultimately unite in overcoming challenges and defeating a mob boss to serve justice together. Vettai is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language Action motion picture starring Arya, Sameera Reddy, Amala Paul, R Madhavan, Nasser, Ashutosh Rana and Ashvatt. Thirupathi Brothers in association with UTV Motion Pictures. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) N. Subash Chandrabose, Siddharth Roy Kapur, N. Subash Chandra Bose, Ronnie Screwvala and N. Linguswamy. Vettai is written by N. Linguswamy and Brinda Sarathy and it is directed by N. Linguswamy. UTV Motion Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Vettai was released on 12th January 2012 and takes a screen time of 168 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Vettai was made on a budget of ₹25 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹60 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by N. Linguswamy. Cinematography was done by Nirav Shah and editing by Anthony. The music was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
