Vetrivel is a movie that explores two timelines, 1987 and 2010, with a storyline that includes a contested election, a forbidden love, a mistaken kidnapping and multiple marriages. Vetrivel is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language Drama Action motion picture starring Nikhila Vimal, M. Sasikumar, Miya George, Prabhu Ganesan, Viji Chandrasekhar, Thambi Ramayya and M Sasikumar. Trident Arts was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) R. Ravindran. The motion picture is written and directed by Vasantha Mani. Lyca Productions acquired the distribution rights for the film. Vetrivel was released on 21st April 2016. The movie made a box office gross of ₹10 crore. Cinematography was done by S. R. Kathir and editing by A. L. Ramesh. The music was composed by D. Imman.
