Kalidasa, a 45-year-old unmarried man, develops a long-distance romance with Gowri, a dubbing artiste, after receiving a misdialed phone call, and when they plan to meet in person, they both send younger and better-looking substitutes who end up falling for each other, but their attempts to sabotage their older counterparts relationship fail, leading Kalidasa and Gowri to finally meet honestly and continue their relationship, while Naveen and Meghana, the substitutes, come clean and resolve the confusion. Un Samayal Arayil is written by Dileesh Nair, Shyam Pushkaran and Prakash Raj and it is directed by Prakash Raj. Prakash Raj Productions acquired the distribution rights for the film. Un Samayal Arayil was released on 3rd August 2014. The screenplay for the movie was written by Prakash Raj. Cinematography was done by Preetha Jayaraman and editing by Kishore Te. The music was composed by National Award winner Ilaiyaraaja. At the 2015 South Filmfare Awards It won an award for Best Supporting Actress (Samyuktha Horanadu).
