A financially troubled drifter named Bobby Cooper gets caught up in a deadly plan to kill a married couple for money, resulting in a series of violent events that ultimately leave him injured and stranded in a small town. U Turn is a 1997 American English-language Crime Drama film starring Sean Penn, Jennifer Lopez, Nick Nolte, Powers Boothe, Claire Danes, Joaquin Phoenix and Jeff Flach. The movie is based on Stray Dogs by John Ridley. Phoenix Pictures was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Dan Halsted and Clayton Townsend. U Turn is written by John Ridley and directed by Oliver Stone. Sony Pictures Releasing acquired the distribution rights for the movie. U Turn was released on 14th January 1999 and takes a screen time of 125 minutes. U Turn was made on a budget of $19 million and at the box office it grossed only $0 million. Cinematography was done by Robert Richardson and editing by Hank Corwin and Thomas J. Nordberg. The music was composed by Ennio Morricone.
