In Los Angeles, semi-retired chef Martin Naranjo lives with his three adult daughters who are each pursuing their own desires outside of their family life, including Leticia who finds solace in Christianity, Carmen who is passionate about food but chooses stability over her dream of owning a restaurant, and Maribel who rebels and dates Andy causing tension, while a family friend named Yolanda hopes to marry Martin; eventually, Leticia elopes with her student crush Orlando, Maribel reconciles with Andy, Martin marries Yolanda, and the family comes together at Carmens restaurant, bonded by their shared love for food. Tortilla Soup is a 2001 American English-language Comedy Romance movie featuring H Ctor Elizondo, Jacqueline Obradors, Elizabeth Pe A, Tamara Mello, Raquel Welch, Judy Herrera and Santiago Verdu. The movie is inspired from Eat Drink Man Woman by Hui-Ling Wang Ang Lee and James Schamus.
