Mirage Enterprises was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Charles Evans, Sydney Pollack, Dick Richards and Ronald L. Schwary. Tootsie is written by Larry Gelbart, Murray Schisgal, Don Mcguire, Barry Levinson, Robert Garland and Elaine May and it is directed by Sydney Pollack. Columbia Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Tootsie was released on 17th December 1982 and takes a screen time of 116 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Tootsie was made on a budget of $21 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $177 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Larry Gelbart, Murray Schisgal, Barry Levinson and Elaine May. Cinematography was done by Owen Roizman and editing by Fredric Steinkamp and William Steinkamp. The music was composed by Dave Grusin. At the 1983 Oscar Awards It won an award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Jessica Lange).
