A WW2 documentary on the P-47 Thunderbolt fighter/bomber pilots in missions (Operation Strangle) from their base in Corsica to Northern Italy in 1944, destroying railroads, bridges, trains, vehicles and hard targets. Thunderbolt is a 1947 American English-language Documentary History film starring James Stewart, Lloyd Bridges, Eugene Kern and Robert Lowery. Carl Krueger Productions in association with U.S. War Department. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) U.s. Army Air Forces. Thunderbolt is written by Lester Koenig and M/sgt Lester Koenig and it is directed by John Sturges, William Wyler and Lt Col William Wyler. Monogram Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. The film has a running time of 44 minutes. Editing was done by Lt Col William Wyler and Capt John Sturges. The music was composed by Cpl Gail Kubik.
