A man named Velu defends his sister, falls in love, sacrifices himself for his familys well-being, becomes a vigilante under an alias, seeks revenge on a former military officer, and continues his vigilante actions even after the officer takes the blame and gets shot. Kalasangham Films acquired the distribution rights for the film. Thiruthani was released on 19th October 2012. The Film was successful at box office. Thiruthani was made on a budget of ₹25 lakh and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹2 crore. Cinematography was done by K. Bala and editing by V. Jaishankar. The music was composed by Perarasu.
