Thirudi

A karate expert named Aravind falls in love with a local girl named Thamarai, but fails to keep his promise to return and marry her, leading to a series of events including Thamarai becoming sick, Aravind becoming a karate champion to save her from an arranged marriage, and Thamarai unintentionally killing her fiancé, culminating in their eventual reunion years later.
