A group of draftees are called up into the infantry during World War II. At first, they appear to be a hopeless bunch, but their Sergeant and Lieutenant have faith in them and mould them into a good team. When they go into action in North Africa, they realize what it s all about. Written by Steve Crook The Way Ahead is a 1944 English-language Drama War movie starring David Niven, Stanley Holloway, William Hartnell, James Donald, John Laurie, Leslie Dwyer and Ben Williams. Two Cities Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) John Sutro and Norman Walker. The Way Ahead is written by Eric Ambler and Peter Ustinov and it is directed by Carol Reed. General Film Distributors acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. The Way Ahead was released on 10th July 1944 and takes a screen time of 115-91 min. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. Cinematography was done by Guy Green and editing by Fergus McDonell. The music was composed by William Alwyn.
