A group of draftees are called up into the infantry during World War II. At first, they appear to be a hopeless bunch, but their Sergeant and Lieutenant have faith in them and mould them into a good team. When they go into action in North Africa, they realize what it s all about. The Way Ahead was released on 10th July 1944 and takes a screen time of 115-91 min. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. Cinematography was done by Guy Green and editing by Fergus McDonell. The music was composed by William Alwyn.
