The movie is inspired from A Watcher in the Woods by Florence Engel Randall. Walt Disney Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Ron Miller. The movie is directed by John Hough and Vincent Mceveety. Buena Vista Distribution acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The Watcher in the Woods was released on 3rd July 1981 and takes a screen time of 84 minutes. The Watcher in the Woods was made on a budget of $9 million and at the box office it grossed only $5 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Brian Clemens, Harry Spalding and Rosemary Anne Sisson. Cinematography was done by Alan Hume and editing by Geoffrey Foot.
