Cineville in association with Columbia TriStar Home Video , Dan Lupovitz Productions and Ventanarosa Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Dan Lupovitz. The Velocity of Gary is written by James Still and directed by Dan Ireland. Sony Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The Velocity of Gary was released on 16th July 1999 and takes a screen time of 97 minutes. The Velocity of Gary was made on a budget of $4 million and at the box office it grossed only $0 million. We gave it a D The incomprehensibility of the title, The Velocity of Gary * (*not his real name), is nothing compared with the labored artsiness and heaps o high pitched acting in this tortured drama originally (and no doubt more effectively) a solo theater piece by James Still about a bisexual porn actor dying of AIDS, and the man and woman who love him.
