The film depicts the tragic disappearance of a group of individuals from Kerala in the 2006 train bombings, highlighting the negligence of the authorities and the role of a police officer named Mamootty who could have prevented the bombings if he had been listened to, while also exploring themes of lifes fleeting nature, love, loss, and resilience in the face of terrorism. Harvest Dreams was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Jayesh Kuttamath. The movie is written and directed by Jayaraj Nair. Kuttamath films acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Train was released on 27th May 2011. The Train was made on a budget of ₹7 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹5 crore. Cinematography was done by Sinu Sidharth and editing by Vivek Harshan. The music was composed by Srinivas.
