The Thundering Mantis

A martial artist named Ah Chi gets into trouble, saves his neighborhood, loses a challenge to a mantis-style master, seeks revenge, learns the mantis style, suffers a mental breakdown, kills every member of the Jade gang, and brutally kills their master in a final fight. The Thundering Mantis is a 1980 Cantonese-language Action Comedy movie featuring Bryan Leung, Cheng Feng, Eddy Ko Hung, Ka-yan Leung, Yi Lung Huang, Feng Cheng and Siu Tin Yuen. Goldig Films Ltd. in association with East Asia Film Co. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Stanley Chow. The movie is directed by Teddy Yip. Goldig Films acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Thundering Mantis was released on 3rd January 1980 and takes a screen time of 85 minutes. The screenplay for the movie was written by Cheung San-yee. Cinematography was done by Cheung Tak-kon and editing by Wong Chau-kwai and Cheung Kwok-kuen. The music was composed by Stanley Chow.
