The film portrays the life of Stephen Hawking, a brilliant astrophysics student who falls in love with Jane Wilde, but faces the challenges of motor neuron disease and persists in his research, while Jane balances caring for him, their children, and her own ambitions, eventually finding support in a close friend named Jonathan as their marriage breaks down, and the film ends with their journey being shown in reverse, representing Stephens research process, as Jane and Jonathan marry and she completes her doctorate, while Stephen continues his scientific pursuits. The movie is inspired from Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen by Jane Hawking.
