In the French kingdom of Dor, a series of events triggered by a sailors rat companions accident leads to a dark period until a brave mouse named Despereaux forms unlikely alliances, confronts danger to save Princess Pea, and ultimately helps restore peace and joy to the kingdom. The Tale of Despereaux is a 2008 English-language Animation Adventure motion picture starring Matthew Broderick, Robbie Coltrane, Dustin Hoffman, Richard Jenkins, Kevin Kline, Frank Langella and Tracey Ullman. The movie is based on The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo. Relativity Media in association with Larger Than Life Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Gary Ross and Allison Thomas. The Tale of Despereaux is written by Chris Viscardi, Will Mcrobb and Gary Ross and it is directed by Sam Fell and Rob Stevenhagen. Universal Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Tale of Despereaux was released on 12th March 2009 and takes a screen time of 93 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. The Tale of Despereaux was made on a budget of $60 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $86 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Gary Ross. Cinematography was done by Brad Blackbourn and editing by Mark Solomon. The music was composed by William Ross.
