The movie follows the lives of teenage Syrian refugee sisters, Yusra and Sarah Mardini, as they swim alongside a sinking dinghy of refugees to safety and showcases their struggles as refugees, Yusras swimming career, and Sarahs arrest for assisting incoming refugees. The Swimmers is a 2014 English-language Drama Horror motion picture featuring Nathalie Issa, Manal Issa, Ahmed Malek, Matthias Schweigh Fer, Ali Suliman, Kinda Alloush and Violette Wautier. The Swimmers was Produced by Eric Fellner, Tim Bevan, Ali Jaafar and Tim Cole. The movie is directed by Sally El-hosaini. Netflix acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. The Swimmers was released on 7th August 2014 and takes a screen time of 134 minutes. The film made a box office gross of $2 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Sally El-Hosaini and Jack Thorne. Cinematography was done by Christopher Ross and editing by Iain Kitching. The music was composed by Steven Price.
